Sonego puts the pressure on
We are still on serve at 5-4 in the third set after Sonego just had possibly his most resounding hold of serve for the match.
He held to love as Shelton missed a couple of potential winners.
They are having a rest, then Shelton will come out to serve and try and keep it on serve.

Third set going at a cracking speed
This third set in the Shelton v Sonego match is flying along.
Shelton just held to make it 3-3 on serve.
But Sonego’s service games still look unimpressive.

It feels like a question of it, not when the former University of Florida Gator will break his serve.
Shelton lets two sets to love. It’s 3-3 in the third set.

Shelton wins second set
Shelton just let out a huge scream of “c’mon” as the large monkey sprung off his back and let him take a two-set lead.
He really struggled to close out the set after twice breaking Sonego.

He even hit two near-certain winners back to Sonego on set point before the Italian hit the ball out.
Now he faces the biggest test of his young career, closing out his match and earning a place in the semi-finals.
Shelton leads 6-4,7-5.
Shelton gets another break
Shelton has broken back after a long, see-sawing game that eventually finished with him taking the win and a 6-5 lead.
Shelton will now serve for the second set, again.

Where has this been? Sonego has gone on the attack and raced to a 0-40 lead.
Shelton’s service game escaped him for a couple of points and it cost him dearly.

Sonego just had arguably his most comfortable hold of the set but it could be for nothing as Shelton is about to serve for a two-set lead at 6-4, 5-4.

Sonego and Shelton shared this lovely moment a little earlier after completing a brilliant rally.
They’ve had a few good ones and we are not even two sets into the action.

His team is also flexing those muscles, including his dad.

Shelton won the first set and he almost had a break in the last game before Sonego steadied himself and held serve.
The big-hitting American looks in sharp form today while Sonego is sending a racquet to get re-strung.
