Dylan Brown has informed Parramatta that he will take up a 10-year deal to join Newcastle from next year.

The Parramatta Eels were on Monday afternoon told that their five-eighth would be departing the club at season’s end, opting against triggering an option in his lucrative deal with the Eels.

Instead, Brown will join the Newcastle Knights on a staggering deal worth around $14 million over 10 years. Brown, 24, will be 36 when he comes off contract.

His deal at the Eels is worth around $1.1 million a season, but the huge financial investment from the Knights proved too difficult to resist.
