Voters handed control of the U.S. Senate to Republicans Tuesday, although the contests in several battleground states won by Donald Trump were still too close to call Wednesday morning. The Democrats’ loss of control of the upper chamber wasn’t unexpected. Republicans were defending only 10 seats, while Democrats had to protect 23, several of them in states Trump carried yesterday.
