Woman charged with murder after man killed near Ballarat

A woman has been charged with murder after she allegedly stabbed a man to death at a house on the outskirts of Ballarat.

Police arrested the 38-year-old Mount Helen woman at the house on Park Lane in the suburb, after she allegedly fatally stabbed the man shortly before 8am on Saturday.

Emergency services performed CPR on the 47-year-old man, who died at the property.

Police interviewed the woman, and announced about 4pm on Saturday they charged her with one count of murder.

“Officers arrested the woman at the property, who was known to the deceased,” a police spokeswoman said.

The 38-year-old was remanded in custody and is due to front Ballarat Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
